Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Loader/Unloader
Location: Burlington
Shift:  Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM
Pay: $16/hour

Summary:
The Warehouse Loader/Unloader is responsible for the efficient, safe, and accurate loading and unloading of materials, shipments, and products within the warehouse. This role involves manual labor, the use of basic material handling equipment, and adherence to all safety protocols to ensure timely and damage-free processing of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading:
    • Load outgoing shipments/products onto trucks, containers, or other transport vehicles.
    • Verify quantities and items against shipping documents (e.g., manifest, packing slip) before loading.
    • Secure loads using appropriate methods (e.g., straps, shrink wrap, nets) to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
    • Optimize space within the transport vehicle for maximum efficiency.
  • Unloading & Receiving:
    • Unload incoming materials and products from trucks or containers.
    • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies; report any issues immediately to the supervisor.
    • Stage, sort, and organize received goods in the designated staging areas.
  • Material Handling:
    • Manually lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items (up to [Specify Weight, e.g., 50 lbs]) repeatedly throughout the shift.
    • Operate essential material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and [Forklift - Only if certified].
    • Move materials to and from storage racks, docks, and production areas.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
    • Perform pre- and post-operation checks on material handling equipment.
  • Teamwork & Administration:
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and other team members regarding load status and issues.
    • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including sweeping, inventory counts, and trash disposal.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to perform continuous physical exertion, including heavy lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Proven reliability and strong work ethic.
