Trade Marketing Representative
75,000 annual base salary plus quarterly bonuses

Are you a results driven sales professional with experience in FMCG, consumer packaged goods, food & beverage, tobacco, beverage, household products, or retail sales? We're looking for a motivated Trade Marketing Representative to join our team and play a key role in expanding market share, strengthening retailer relationships, and executing best-in class trade marketing initiatives throughout your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Management & Sales Execution
- Manage and grow an assigned territory by developing strong relationships with retail partners.
- Plan and prioritize customer visits using territory planning tools, customer segmentation, and sales performance data.
- Execute retail sales strategies that increase product distribution, visibility, and market share.
- Identify opportunities to expand product placement and drive incremental sales.
Trade Marketing & Merchandising
- Execute merchandising standards, promotional displays, and planograms to maximize shelf presence.
- Ensure retail locations maintain optimal inventory levels and product availability.
- Submit replenishment orders when appropriate to minimize out-of-stock situations.
- Educate retail partners on merchandising best practices and category growth opportunities.
Consultative Selling & Customer Development
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend solutions that create mutual business success.
- Negotiate promotional activities, product placement, display opportunities, and sell-out initiatives.
- Build long-term partnerships through exceptional customer service and consistent follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with merchandising standards, promotional agreements, and contractual requirements.
Business Analytics & Market Intelligence
- Analyze sales performance, promotional effectiveness, and territory trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, new product launches, and retail market conditions.
- Provide retailers with data-driven recommendations that improve category performance and sales results.
- Maintain accurate reporting and activity documentation using Trade Marketing Execution (TME) systems and CRM tools.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Achieve or exceed territory sales objectives, merchandising KPIs, and distribution goals.
- Track performance metrics and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to execute national and regional initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and timely reporting through company systems such as Synergy.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in Trade Marketing, Territory Sales, Field Sales, Merchandising, Retail Sales, Account Management, or FMCG/CPG sales.
- Experience working with consumer goods, beverage, food, tobacco, personal care, or household product brands.
- Experience using Trade Marketing Execution (TME), CRM, or retail execution software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and transform insights into action plans.
- Demonstrated success achieving sales quotas, merchandising goals, and territory growth objectives.
