Electrical Controls Technician - Direct Hire - $35 - $38 per hourDay Shift 7:00 - 3:30We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Controls lead technician. The Electrical Controls Technician will be responsible for electrical/PLC troubleshooting, modification and installation as needed and will provide technical expertise in machine automation and electrical/PLC systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in electrical/PLC systems and process controls to enhance operating efficiency. They will develop/support consistency and compatibility in a process control program through implementing standards along with training and support of the maintenance technicians.
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate Electrical/PLC day-to-day tasks and improvement projects throughout the NCDC site
  • Hands on involvement in basic machinery troubleshooting and maintenance as needed
  • Provide process control and automation programming and troubleshooting expertise
  • Work in conjunction with maintenance and operations staff to maximize machine performance and improvement
  • Lead and mange the transition of contract troubleshooting and ownership of conveyor/sorter control systems to inhouse. Including ControlLogix, and conveylinx ERSC controlled MDR conveyors.
  • Upgrade and fine tune control systems to improve equipment performance
  • Develop Maintenance crew through mentoring and training, help cover for absences when needed
  • Provide leadership and support for Projects
  • Maintain shop supplies and spare parts inventory
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material
  • Work with existing partners to become the onsite superuser/SME for Autostore and T-sort systems, working with KPI and Tompkins robotics.
  • Ensure the execution of key internal controls within the area of responsibility

 Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an industrial PLC/Electrician, supervisory experience a plus
  • Experience utilizing a CMMS for work order management
  • PLC and HMI programming experience
  • Proven track record of Electrical/PLC equipment troubleshooting, repair and installation
  • Experience in developing procedures and implementing best practices in an Electrical/PLC department
  • Ability to follow and promote site safety policy and procedures
  • Strong Organizational and Leadership Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical distribution (MCC's, Transformers)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLC's including advanced programming
  • Comprehensive knowledge of variable frequency drives, AC/DC motors and their controls
  • Detail and results-oriented with strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills - including Microsoft Office
