Our client, a full-service mechanical contractor, is looking for experienced MIG Welders to join their fabrication shop in High Point, North Carolina.
In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
· Weld structural steel members using (MIG) wirefeed processes
· Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures
· Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements
· Follow proper safety instructions
· Work in a team environment
· Perform other duties as needed by supervision
Education Requirements:
· Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager
· Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required
Specific Structural Welding Skills:
· Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8“ material
· Good verbal communication skills with other employees
· Positive attitude
· Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement
· Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
· Ability to read blueprints
Specific Physical Skills:
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
· Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary
· Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
Shift: 4pm to 2:30am M-Th, OT on Friday as needed
Pay: $22-$24/hr
