Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Emergency Vehicle installation Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our upfit facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair, collision repair and management, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and fostering a positive work environment. As the Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the efficiency of the upfit processes, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and meeting financial goals. performs all aspects of new vehicle conversion to include (but not limited to) installation of emergency warning devices, electronics, custom fabricated items such as consoles and cabinetry, wire harnesses and more.Responsibilities & Duties
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the shop
  • Perform daily checklists to manufacture vehicles to the company and customer’s satisfaction.
  • Execute all daily tasks with safety and quality in mind to produce consistent results.
  • Ensure that all upfits are completed and tested based on the delivery date
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of technicians and support staff
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that the shop has the necessary supplies and equipment to fulfill the jobs
  • Submit inventory requisitions as needed to corporate
  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the shop follows all regulations
  • Perform tactical skills such as fabrication, vehicle automotive wiring and technical troubleshooting as it pertains to all aspects of vehicle production. Such task offered for example but not limited to cutting body sides for lighting, fabricating, and running harnesses under vehicle, molding and shaping items for custom fit, painting and commercial coatings, installation of external accessories, wiring and hookup of electrical items, detailing and cleaning of vehicle, testing and troubleshooting vehicle performance, support and maintenance.
  • Assist customers and other employees with service and troubleshooting work pertaining to emergency vehicle repairs.
  • Keep the work area and shop clean and free from debris and hazards.
  • Operation of equipment only after proper training and with due regard for safety.
  • Perform other various company improvement projects at the request of the Division director.
  • Assist in the development of the products and services offered by the company.
 Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in a shop management role is required
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of automotive repair processes and procedures
  • Electrical 12DC and 120AC (1 year experience)
  • Experience in modifications of vehicles (Collision Repair, Stereo installs, adding lights, lifts, Plows)
  • Mechanical Background is a plus
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing process
  • Ability to perform assembly and installation work using assembly, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
