Shipping Associate
Summary:
The Shipping Associate is vital to the efficient operation of the shipping/receiving department, ensuring seamless material flow and product handling within the facility. Working swiftly and safely to meet deadlines is paramount. Responsible for preparing, inspecting, and packaging products for shipment in a fast-paced environment, this role demands attention to detail, multitasking abilities, strict adherence to safety protocols, and quality standards. Proficiency in operating general fabrication tools, reading blueprints, and maintaining precision in material handling is crucial. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment are also essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Work in the shipping/receiving department, maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas.
• Prepare and inspect products before shipping to customers, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Pull parts and pack outgoing shipments according to established processes.
• Conduct inventory checks in the department and occasionally throughout the facility.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (preferred), adhering strictly to safety guidelines.
• Read and understand blueprints, as well as tracking information on materials.
• Utilize general fabrication tools such as tape measures, protractors, and calipers with proficiency.
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and workload demands.
• Uphold company core values and maintain strict attention to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be available:
• Experience: 6 months of shipping and receiving manufacturing experience.
• Required: Proficiency in reading, reading blueprints and understanding tracking information on materials.
• Required: Basic math/measurement skills and ability to read 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32” graduations on a tape measure.
• Essential: Ability to convert measurements between feet, inches, fractions, and decimals.
• Preferred: Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Works effectively in a team environment and comprehends basic communication.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching at or above shoulder level.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperatures ranging from up to 102°F and below 20°F.
• Ability to remain on their feet in an upright position and/or move about on foot for the duration of their shift.
Schedule: 7am-3:30/4pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $19-$22/hour Based on experience
