  • Monitor and adjust web tension, alignment, and process parameters
  • Run coating processes such as gravure and slot die
  • Manage drying conditions and evaluate coating quality during runs
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Perform equipment cleaning, changeovers, and basic maintenance support
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Develop and update SOPs for operation and cleaning procedures
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and process documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology, materials science, manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 3+ years of experience operating roll-to-roll coaters, printers, or web-based equipment
  • Experience with multiple of the following:
    • Thin film coating processes
    • Gravure coating on flexible films
    • Slot die coating
    • Solvent-based ink preparation
    • Ink drying systems
    • Web handling, tension control, and alignment
    • Web cleaning methods
    • Cleanroom environments
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols
  • Experience documenting processes and writing SOPs
  • Comfortable working with solvents and industrial equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in process development or pilot-line environments
  • Familiarity with contamination control in coating applications
  • Basic understanding of coating rheology and fluid behavior
  • Experience supporting equipment upgrades or modifications
  • Forklift certification or industrial safety training (if applicable)
What Success Looks Like
  • Experiments are executed safely and consistently
  • Stable web handling and controlled coating processes
  • Repeatable and well-documented ink preparation
  • Continuous identification of process improvements
  • Increased equipment uptime and efficiency
  • SOPs evolve alongside process development
