Quality Technician - 1st Shift - Direct Hire Overview: Position provides technical support to quality engineering function and assists in developing quality procedures and practices. Assists in identifying root cause/corrective action and participates in Continuous Improvement/Kaizen activities. Assists with inspector and operator training, teaching, and coaching. Conducts quality audits and documents results in audit database. Assists in maintaining gages and inspection equipment. Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs visual, dimensional, and functional testing & inspection.
Must be able to interpret and follow established quality procedures and documents.
Must interpret product drawings and tolerances.
Uses various gages, calipers, and other measuring tools and equipment.
Documents inspection results in database.
Coaches, teaches, and trains inspectors and operators in established methods and procedures.
Ability to develop work instructions.
Support IQC inspection and testing.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, word, and Outlook Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong technical & mechanical aptitude.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Attention to detail, time management skills and meeting deadlines
Positive attitude.
Ability to reflect positive attitude and disciplined work ethic.
Ability to work in a team.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated experience in being a self-starter.
Ability to deal with team members and others with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Ability to learn ERP/database software.
Education and Experience:BS degree preferred or relevant work experience3-5 years of experience in the quality related field
