Job Description

Job Title: Project ManagerOverview: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within or under budget.Key Responsibilities:

Complete projects by contract deadlines.
Manage project budgets to meet or exceed estimates.
Ensure field crews meet productivity and quality standards while adhering to company safety policies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, co-workers, and subcontractors.
Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.

Management Functions:

Review and understand project scope, blueprints, building codes, and specifications.
Prepare and submit submittals for projects.
Collaborate with Project Foreman to optimize manpower, tools, and resources.
Monitor weekly labor analysis to keep projects on schedule and budget.
Serve as a coach and mentor to Project Foreman, motivating the team and maintaining high morale.
Address performance issues and report to HR as necessary.
Manage vendors and subcontractors to prevent delays or negative impacts on the project.
Ensure a diverse and harassment-free work environment, adhering to company and legal standards.

Budget Responsibilities:

Effectively manage manpower to stay within or under budget.
Avoid over-purchasing materials, ensuring minimal leftovers.
Identify and manage change orders, ensuring clear understanding of contract scope.

Administrative Duties:

Coordinate material and equipment delivery with the project team.
Attend all relevant meetings (e.g., job site, office, turnover, and closeout meetings).
Complete necessary forms for tools, equipment, and materials.
Submit weekly timecards by Monday morning.
Participate in employee evaluations and provide timely feedback.
Generate and address project punch lists.

Quality Assurance:

Foster a team environment that meets or exceeds project schedules and quality standards.
Ensure work is thorough, accurate, and meets company standards.

Safety Management:

Conduct daily site walks to identify and address safety hazards.
Ensure the proper use of safety equipment and enforce safety protocols.
Maintain a neat and orderly job site to prevent hazards.

Competencies:

Ability to manage and resolve conflicts constructively.
Serve as a mentor and trainer to junior team members.
Strong practical problem-solving skills.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
Ability to interpret technical documents and ensure installations meet applicable codes and standards.
Knowledge of construction tools, materials, methods, and safety equipment.

Required Experience:

5+ years of experience in the mechanical and HVAC industry managing large-scale projects.
