Production and Shift Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Demonstrate company Core Values:  Safety, Respect, Ownership
•    Follows all safety regulations.
•    Prepares and executes strategic staffing plan based on available personnel, and production needs. Always keeps output and waste in mind when planning.
•    Has knowledge of and uses KPI’s to ensure production team’s goals are aligned with and are representative of the overall company’s objective.
•    Crosses over with oncoming shift to ensure goals, and priorities are developed and seamlessly carried over.
•    Manage changes needed to the production schedule and communicate with production crews.
•    Always leads by example and is a constant champion of integrity, empathy, empowerment, and fair practices. Encourages others to do the same.
•    Provide support and coaching to team members to ensure that training objectives are successful.
•    Continuously use opportunity to teach and coach team members on the objectives of an efficient organization.
•    Work closely interdepartmentally with all operations teams in a no walls environment to ensure that goals are met, and if changes are needed, they happen quickly and fluently.
•    Always works as a team player to keep the company’s goals at the forefront.
•    Communicates efficiently and often to ensure that objectives are being driven.
•    Coordinates and communicates with other Group Leaders to achieve consistency on all crews.
•    Act as the sounding board between production crews and the rest of the organization.
•    Enforce company policies as needed during a normal day’s activity.
•    Report potential production stoppages to Production Team Manager.
•    Audit production areas throughout the day for 5S, Safety, Production and Quality Issues.
•    Know and apply the Health & Safety (H&S) laws and regulations, the safety procedures, the danger analysis and the management of accident process, the methods of entering confined spaces, the lock-outs, etc.
•    Ensure all paperwork is completed and production is entered correctly at end of shift.  
•    And any other duties as requested by Department Manager.

Education and Experience:
•    High school diploma or GED required.
•    Associates degree preferred
•    3-5 years minimum experience in production field required
•    Demonstrated leadership experience required.  
•    Leadership Certificate preferred
•    Minimum 2 years consecutive employment with 1 employer

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•    Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
•    Must be able to read and interpret work documents
•    Ability to lead teams to high levels of performance and produce results
•    Ability to perform basic math
•    Ability to adapt to frequent changes
•    Ability to lead the production team in a positive and motivating constant improvement environment.
•    Ability to manage employee performance
•    Must be dependable
•    Knowledgeable about the materials, machines, tools and production steps in the production environment.
•    Possess technical knowledge of each production operation
•    Able to set priorities and handle requests regarding production team activities.
•    Respects individuals, the organization, occupational health and safety, authority, the community and the team.
•    Intermediate to Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office products
•    SAP experience
•    Ability to work independently.
•    Ability to take initiative.
•    Advance problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication skills

Supervisory Responsibilities:
•    Set goals that are aligned with and representative of the overall company’s objective.
•    Define and communicate work requirements to employees, based on these goals and objectives.
•    Establish expectations for employee performance
•    Monitor and evaluate employee performance to expectations and provide feedback
•    Foster teamwork
•    Support, coach and develop team members
•    Administer company policies.

Training Requirements:
•    General Safety
•    Quality Systems
•    New Hire Orientation
•    Position-specific Basic training*Training will be required (for up to 3 weeks) at company HQ located outside of the U.S., must be okay with travel and have valid passport for international travel*

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:
•    Hearing protection must be worn at all times.
•    Cut resistant gloves when using cutting tools.
•    Safety goggles must be worn when working with the air compressor.

Work Environment:
•    Work is performed in an industrial environment.

Schedule and Shifts Available:
2-2-3 Schedule

Day Shift: 7am-7pm
Night Shift: 7pm-7am *shift differential for night shift*

Pay: 65k-70k/year
