Job Title: Paint Maker / Production Technician- $21/HR
Job Summary:
The Paint Maker is responsible for producing paint and coating products according to established formulas, quality standards, and production schedules. This role involves operating mixing and batching equipment, handling raw materials, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Paint Maker plays a key role in ensuring consistent product performance and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, weigh, and mix raw materials according to production formulas and batch instructions
- Operate mixers, mills, pumps, and other production equipment to manufacture paint products
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards at all times
- Monitor batches during production and make adjustments as needed to ensure consistency, color, viscosity, and performance
- Collect samples for quality testing and document production results
- Label, transfer, and stage finished products and work-in-progress materials
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance
- Record batch data, material usage, and production information accurately
- Assist with inventory of raw materials and notify supervisors of shortages
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
- Work collaboratively with quality, warehouse, and production teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing or chemical production experience preferred (paint or coatings experience a plus)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with formulas and measurements
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with chemicals, powders, and liquids
- Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to become certified (if applicable)
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, safety-focused attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as required by production tasks
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and moving machinery
- Requires adherence to strict safety and PPE protocol
