Job Title: PLP Extrusion Operator
Location: Burlington
Shift: 7AM-7PM
Pay: $15 per hour depending on experience
Job Summary:
The PLP Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment to produce high-quality polypropylene (PLP) yarn or film used in the production of mattress tapes and mattress ticking. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and a strong focus on maintaining consistent product quality and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate extrusion lines to produce polypropylene yarn, film, or tape according to production requirements.
- Monitor machine settings, temperatures, pressures, and speeds to maintain product consistency.
- Inspect extruded materials for uniformity, color, width, and quality; make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Thread up extrusion lines and winders to ensure smooth startup and changeovers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues such as breaks, blockages, or material inconsistencies.
- Record production data, including lot numbers, material usage, and output.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of extrusion equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Communicate with the production supervisor and quality team regarding any process or product issues.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in plastic or yarn extrusion preferred, especially in a textile or industrial manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment adjustments.
- Understanding of extrusion process controls and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift raw materials as needed.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
