Maintenance Technician - Level 3
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role demands a versatile individual with advanced abilities in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. The successful candidate will be a proven leader, capable of taking ownership of complex repairs, mentoring colleagues, and driving continuous improvement. This individual will work independently with minimal supervision, while supporting and improving key metrics: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities
Safety:
• Follow all prescribed Health, Safety, and Environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Complete all required safety and regulatory training in a timely manner.
• Survey job sites to identify potential hazards and countermeasures before starting work.
• Audit lock out tag outs to ensure equipment is safe prior to work.
Equipment:
• Troubleshoot mechanical/equipment breakdowns. Act as the primary mechanic for complex repairs.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders. Help clarify concepts and provide equipment training for new colleagues.
• Disassemble and install new machines, condition monitoring sensors, and other equipment.
• Recommend equipment changes to improve safety, quality, and/or uptime. Vet changes through engineering and ensure documentation is updated.
• Lead the installation, assembly, and testing of machines and equipment.
• Use a variety of tools to complete repairs, installations, adjustments, and part replacements.
• Work from established procedures and/or verbal instructions.
Preventative Maintenance:
• Lead routine preventive maintenance in accordance with specified tasks and procedures.
• Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions (visual and sound inspections).
• Take and record measurements for machine condition trend analysis and accurately enter data into the CMMS.
• Regularly evaluate PM procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
Daily:
• Work effectively with other team members in a high-speed 24/7 environment.
• Complete records of work performed in the CMMS system.
• Interface positively and professionally with all levels of team members.
• Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition according to Visual Management and 5S standards.
• Escalate issues affecting key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Respond quickly to service calls with a sense of urgency to maximize equipment efficiency.
• Use proper tools for each task.
• Other duties as assigned due to business needs.
Requirements:
• Must have a H.S. diploma/GED or an educational equivalent and an appropriate mix of training , education and experience with progressive employment experience in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Further Certificates of skill (Welding, Rigging, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Bearings) and 5+ years of work-related experience in a manufacturing environment. OR 7+ years of work-related experience if no certifications exist.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently on complex jobs.
• Minimal assistance or guidance from Engineering or Supervision needed.
• Some level of electrical aptitude (switches, photo-eyes, cameras, PLCs, ladder logic, VFDs, basic fault troubleshooting).
• Ability to support multiple departments within the plant.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to learn and deepen understanding of maintenance and equipment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to mentor, train, and lead, while communicating effectively with operators, team leads, supervisors, and maintenance colleagues.
• Clear communication skills for troubleshooting issues and scheduled maintenance initiatives.
• Ability to suggest changes to procedures and drawings. Identify the need for part substitutions and make recommendations.
• Ability to document work in CMMS.
• Ability to coordinate with the planner for job plan creation and improvement.
Hours: 7pm-7am, rotating 2-2-3 schedule
Pay: $36/hour; Based on Experience
