Job Description
Machine Operator Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Demonstrate company Core Values: Safety, Respect, Ownership • Perform typical machine operations to produce product: -to specification -using defined good run settings. -meeting output, yield and OEE goals • Prep, load and set parameters for raw materials • Must be able to operate the following manufacturing processes: cutting (dies, knives), gluing, conveyor, vision, and packaging (case erectors, box sealers) • Splice material • Read, monitor, interact with and respond to machines using PLC/HMIs • Remove, install, and validate parts when doing equipment set up and changeovers • Use hand tools • Read and use a metric and standard tape measure • Follow all procedures • Maintain a clean and safe work area • Perform quality checks • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition • Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines • Detect deviations from normal machine behavior • Troubleshoot to root cause when solving machine operations problems • Detect and report product defects and questionable conditions • Apply Lean Manufacturing concepts • Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) • Communicate status of machine operations to incoming crew at shift change • Demonstrate a respect to all individuals you encounter. • Effectively use communication skills. • Must be able to work overtime or on a different shift if required. • Works under direct supervision • Train new machine operators • Enter work requests • Assist with physical inventory
Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED required • Minimum 1-year manufacturing related experience • Minimum 2-years consecutive employment with 1 employer
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken • Must be able to read and interpret work documents • Must have the ability to work in teams • Must have the ability to perform basic math • Must have the ability to adapt to frequent changes • Must be able to read and interpret production related documents • Must be able to learn ERP system
Training Requirements: • General Safety • Quality Systems • New Hire Orientation • Position-specific Basic training*Training will be required at company HQ located outside of the U.S., must be okay with travel*
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements: • Hearing protection must be worn at all times. • Safety goggles must be worn when working with the air compressor. • Cut resistant gloves must be worn when working with knives.
Work Environment: • Work is performed in an industrial environment.
Schedule and Shifts Available: 2-2-3 Schedule
Day Shift: 7am-7pm Night Shift: 7pm-7am *shift differential for night shift*
