MIG Welder/Fabricator *Potential Direct Hire Opportunity* Job Summary: We’re looking for experienced MIG Welders/Fabricators with at least 2 years of experience in sheet metal work. You should be able to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and weld different materials like galvanized metal, carbon steel, and stainless steel. Attention to detail, quality work, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are important. Experience with fabrication machines like press brakes, roll formers, bead machines, and drill presses is a bonus. Basic math skills, the ability to lift heavy items, and a strong work ethic are required. Key Responsibilities:
Read Blueprints: Understand blueprints and use tools to accurately fabricate items.
MIG Welding: Perform high-quality MIG welds on materials like galvanized metal, carbon, and stainless steel.
Use of Fabrication Tools: Operate machines like hand brakes, press brakes, and general tools like tape measures, calipers, and protractors for precise fabrication.
Physical Tasks: Lift and move materials 50+ lbs and work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Work Flexibility: Be open to working different hours and overtime based on production needs.
Material Preparation: Cut, grind, and fit materials for welding and assemble metal components accurately.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
Experience with equipment like ironworkers, power rotary swedge machines, spot tack machines, band saws, and drill presses.
Safety & Quality:
Follow safety rules and maintain high standards in all welding and fabrication tasks.
Inspect your work to ensure welds meet industry and company quality standards.
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
Ability to read blueprints and use measurement tools.
Basic math skills, including converting measurements and reading a 16-foot tape measure.
Experience welding materials from 18-gauge to ¼-inch plate thickness.
Requirements:
Pass a weld test including butt welds, T-joints, and circumference welds.
Ability to bring your own welding gear (shield, hammer, vice grips).
Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and handling physical tasks like bending and reaching.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM, with overtime as needed. Pay: $20+/hour depending on experience, $24+/hour for Master Welders based on experience.
