Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strengthen customer relations by relationship management.
Liaise with other internal departments to provide the best possible customer experience with quick turnaround on requests, and help with technical inquiries while keeping customers aware of their order.
Ensure service commitments are met and orders expedited by communicating with internal departments and customer/s.
Regularly communicate with assigned accounts regarding new products and services, company changes, holiday schedules, item changes, and new sales opportunities.
Update customer about any pricing/ item changes or information.
Point of contact for customer s needs in regards to expediting materials needed for product completion.
Demonstrate skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data in order to troubleshoot customer issues.
Responding to customer inquiries regarding product questions and order/s questions.
Checking availability of stock and shipping dates.
Quoting prices, filling orders to customer specifications and processing sales data via computer.
Assist in preparing price quotes.
Regularly interact and communicate with various internal departments to provide vital information that may be necessary for servicing the customer. This may include advance notification of merchandising changes, increased or decreased product movement, new business, changes in proprietary product or other related information.
Provide advance notification to Operations and Production about new customers or any other changes that may affect customer orders or delivery.
Continuously monitor assigned accounts and take corrective action, as needed, to maintain and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Immediately notify the management team if an existing account is in jeopardy of discontinuing service or issues remain unresolved regardless of attempts to correct the situation.
Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure customers pay invoices within agreed-upon terms.
Assist in the set-up of new accounts including the creation of customer order guides, obtaining new account applications, setting up price-rules, establish order/delivery schedules, implement customer/vendor pricing agreements, create files, etc.
Coordinate with each appropriate department to meet or exceed the customer' s expectation.
Inside sales management preferred.
Ability to be fluent in Japanese.
Intermediate to fluent English.
Able to travel through different modes of transportation; flying, driving, other, etc.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Degree in food science or chemistry-related field preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 2-3 days at a time, several times a year to visit customers and attend exhibitions and conference and/or whenever needed.
Experience selling in an inside sales environment and/or demonstrated success working with customers.
Experience with inventory sales.
