Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and electrical/mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
• Observes electro/mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Troubleshooting – must be able to use computer for machine troubleshooting i.e. PLC software Allen Bradley or Siemens.
• Read and interoperate Electrical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Conduct monthly inspections on production machines to ensure consistent operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machines and equipment.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
• Provide instruction to those using machines on use and safety of machine operation.
• Handle plumbing requests as they arise.
• Complete a daily safety and maintenance log on all machines.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Scope of Responsibility
• This job will have periodic access to confidential data including financial statements, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
• This job follows standard practices and procedures and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.
Qualifications:
• Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education/Experience:
• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
• Work is performed in a production environment where disruptions occur frequently.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
