Industrial Maintenance Technician - Night Shift - Direct Hire - Mebane

You will ensure an optimal technical operation of the machines and installations by performing periodical maintenance and systematic improvements. Performs corrective and preventive maintenance according to the prescribed procedures and guidelines.
Performs hands-on intervention in case of malfunction of machines and utilities.
Provides direct troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
Changes, adjusts and fine-tunes packing machines, depending on production demand.
Monitors products after changing the machine settings or other maintenance activities, in consultation with the baker or the line operator.
Participates in the development and implementation of technical projects.
Ensures effective spare parts inventory management.
Reports unsafe situations or near accidents and assists in the development of preventive solutions.
Performs calibration activities.
Supervises the overall tidiness and cleanliness of the technical rooms.
Profile
Pro-active attitude towards continuous improvement regarding safety, quality and efficiency.
Technical Education with emphasis in Mechanics, Electricity, Pneumatics, Automation is preferred.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Must be able to perform duties following all regulatory GMP/FSMA food hygiene practices.
Experience in maintenance of (food) production equipment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Night shift starts at 6:30 pm and ends at 7:00 am
Employees who work night shift get a 10% shift premium that is calculated on their base pay. Thus, if I hire someone for night shift at $30 per hour base pay, he/she will earn $33 per hour for all hours worked on night shift.
We offer two paid 20-minute breaks per workday
There is a 40-minute lunch break, with a requirement that 30 minutes be off the clock. We pay for 5 minutes to doff PPE and 5 minutes to don PPE. If someone doesn’t leave the plant for lunch, he/she can take the full 40 minute lunch break but must clock out for 30 minutes.
Beginning pay rates for the first four tiers of our maintenance ladder are below. We have some wriggle room depending on applicability of experience.
Level 1 maintenance technician starts at $26.00 per hour. This is someone with little to no experience. We will consider recent college grads with an AAS degree in mechatronics, industrial systems technology, electrical/electronic engineering technology, or mechanical engineering technology (or similar).
