Material Handler
Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of apparel products within a fast-paced distribution center. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, inventory control, and safe handling of merchandise to support overall warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Move product throughout the warehouse using manual or powered equipment
- Sort, label, and organize merchandise by style, size, and SKU
- Replenish picking locations and maintain proper stock levels
- Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow company procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards
- Assist with returns processing and restocking as needed
- Meet daily productivity and accuracy goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience is a plus
- Experience in apparel or retail distribution preferred but not required
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jack, RF scanner, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly
- Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying
- Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures
