Facilities Maintenance Helper Job Summary: Perform duties related to the maintenance repair and monitoring of physical plant and grounds as directed by the Facilities Lead.Essential Job Duties:
General maintenance and upkeep of the facility grounds and equipment.
Assist in inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers and safety related equipment.
May assist in the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Assist in performing preventative maintenance and inspections on Fire Pumps and Emergency Generators.
Assist in basic remodeling and construction projects.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
General custodial experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company requirements for insurance coverage for driving a company vehicle.
May be necessary to assist with a 24 hour, seven (7) day a week on call rotation cycle as needed.
Understanding of computer systems as required for entry of work tickets.
Must be able to perform duties using high reach lifts.
Basic carpentry skills.
Knowledge of wood working power equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the building maintenance trades.
Physical Requirements:
A normal range of pulmonary functions test is required and physiological determination of the ability to wear a respirator and other safety equipment as necessary.
Ability to use required safety equipment for the handling of hazardous materials.
Duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, climbing stairs, etc., handling supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Hours: 7am-4pm with every other Friday off. Overtime as needed and an on call rotation.
