The Furnace Supervisor is responsible for assigning cast and secondary resources based on published schedules and priorities. Is responsible for overall conformance to all processes including die casting, secondary, and metal standards. Monitors and continuously works to improve daily production outputs in accordance to targeted efficiencies. Leads, motivates and trains a team of Supervisors and production Associates, promoting quality and safety standards. Works to continuously improve all outputs related to die casting and secondary production. Ensures the health and safety of all Associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
POSITION RELATED:
• Oversees the production process to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently to meet production schedules. This includes supervision of die cast, secondary operations and melt.
• Thoroughly understands and drives standardized work instructions and procedures, daily activities.
• Monitors production performance standards and aligns the organization to meet or exceed these standards.
• Leads and participates in problem solving techniques related to die casting, secondary equipment, and general operating needs.
• Assists with Manufacturing Process and Layer Processed Audits.
• Ensures accurate data entry and tracking in production software and quality systems.
• Verifies that production documentation is precise and that any instances of scrap and downtime are recorded accurately.
• Participates in cross-functional team efforts to resolve production issues, improve scrap, and reduce overtime.
• Achieves and maintains 70% Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in die cast and 100% Efficiency in all secondary operations.
• Effectively communicates with Associates and coordinates with other shifts to ensure seamless production operations and addresses any issues in a timely manner.
• Complies with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs. Performs duties in compliance quality, as well as safety policies, procedures/processes and programs.

• Strives for continuous Associate coaching on various job techniques. Maintains discipline, take and document corrective action as necessary.
• Addresses associates’ issues or concerns.
• Daily reviews of Associates time records and on-time final weekly approvals.
• Ensures production Associates are trained on new processes and equipment.
• Ensures timely completion of performance reviews and meet supervisor scorecard metrics.
