Job Title: Creeler
Location: Burlington
Shift: 2nd 3PM-11PM
Shift: 3rd 11PM-7AM
Pay: $15 per hour depending on experience
Job Summary:
The Creeler is responsible for supplying and maintaining yarn on weaving or knitting machines to ensure continuous, efficient production of mattress tapes and mattress ticking. This position plays a key role in keeping the looms running smoothly by correctly loading, tying, and organizing yarn packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load yarn packages onto creel racks and ensure correct color and lot alignment per production specifications.
- Tie or splice new yarn ends to minimize downtime during production.
- Monitor yarn supply during weaving and replace empty packages as needed.
- Inspect yarns for breaks, tangles, or defects and correct issues promptly.
- Maintain clean, organized creel areas and ensure proper labeling of yarn lots.
- Assist weaving operators with warp changes and machine setup when needed.
- Follow all safety and housekeeping standards in the production area.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a textile manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to identify yarn types, colors, and lot numbers accurately.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physically able to lift and move yarn packages and stand for extended periods.
- Dependable and able to work as part of a production team.
