Job Description

Graham Personnel Services is assisting a client in Greensboro fill a 1st shift Control Technician.Direct HireHours: 7a-3p$28 - $35 Per Hour
  1. Utilizes electrical and computer skills to program controls for production equipment; ensures that it is running in the most efficient manner possible.
  2. Performs all work in a timely manner.
  3. Performs preventive maintenance as assigned.
  4. Fills out work orders completely and accurately when work is finished.
  5. Maintains inventory control of parts in assigned area, using proper 5S techniques.
  6. Generates purchase order requests for needed parts.
  7. Responds to all electrical-related repairs as they arise.
  8. Ability to bend & run conduit as required for jobs or projects.
  9. Works projects as assigned, including around company holidays and idle plant times.
  10. Utilizes electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems to determine corrective actions and repairs.
  11. Troubleshoots any issues related to PLC, HMI, etc., and makes necessary repairs.
  12. Works with vendors obtaining quotes based on needs and specifications.
  13. Conducts equipment testing (FAT) to ensure that it meets specs initially and continues to meet job specifications. 
  14. Supports process design and continuous improvement in a variety of production processes.
  15. Serves as technical resource to Operations, Reliability, Engineering, etc. on controls related issues including troubleshooting, analysis and recommending practical corrective actions for control-related problems.
  16. Identifies opportunities and make recommendations to improve plant performance utilizing or improving current control systems.
  Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 5 years of experience in maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  3. 5 years of experience with electrical and mechanical PLC based applications in an industrial environment.
  4. 5 years of experience with tools, procedures and methods utilized in an electrical maintenance environment.
  5. Basic skills in connecting to and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic
  6. Proficiency in troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  7. Trained in ARC Flash safety        
  8. Preferred Qualifications:
  9. Associate degree in industrial Electricity or similar program
  10. Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment
  11. Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent.
  12. Basic computer literacy, including skills with Microsoft Office.
  13. Able to work in difficult situations such as tight spaces, heat, and elevated places.
  14. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with demanding and odd hours.
  15. Experience in selecting and installing process instrumentation
  16. Formal training with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives
 Physical Demands:
  1. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
  2. Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
