Chemical Operator – Job Summary

The Tote Cleaner is responsible for safely and efficiently cleaning, inspecting, and preparing reusable totes used to store and transport paints, coatings, and related materials. This role ensures all totes are free of contaminants, properly labeled, and compliant with company procedures and regulatory requirements before being returned to production or sent to customers. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize totes—inside and out—following established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. Operate cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, pumps, and chemical-cleaning systems, in a safe and efficient manner. Handle paints, solvents, and cleaning chemicals in compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and all environmental, health, and safety guidelines. Inspect totes for damage, wear, or contamination and promptly report any issues to the supervisor. Maintain accurate and timely cleaning, inspection, and equipment-use records. Ensure all cleaned totes are properly labeled, documented, and stored in designated areas. Follow all company policies, including environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping requirements. Assist with general plant cleaning, routine maintenance tasks, and other duties as assigned.
