Position: Nesting/CNC Programmer Department: Production Reports to: Production Supervisor FLSA status: Non-Exempt Position summary: The CNC Programmer is a technical resource in the sheet metal fabrication department and serves as a liaison with design/engineering. Responsibilities: • CNC Programming and Dynamic Nesting (70% of time) o Develop dynamic nest patterns for individual parts and families of parts o Optimize machine run times and maximize material utilization o Create fabrication schedules to satisfy production needs • Machine Set-Up and Operation. (20% of time) o Maintain machinery and tool inventory o Operate Turret Punches, Shears, Press Brakes as necessary • Other job duties as needed (10% of time) Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred. • 2+ years of CNC Programming in a manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of Sheet Metal (CAD/CAM, Punching, Shearing, Bending, Laser) • Experience working with CAD/CAM software (ActCut, NC Express or similar) • Knowledge of turret punches and shears (Salvagnini, Prima Power or similar) • Knowledge of machine tools (sheet metal required) • Basic understanding of ERP functions (Item Masters and Routings)
