Job Description

Responsibilities:

Responsible for corrective maintenance tasks on equipment.
Responsible for executing preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
Responsible for adjustments and calibrations in automated equipment.
Carry out corresponding activities for equipment validation.
Responsible for correctly filling out forms related to their work
Keep 5s on material and tools for work.
Responsible for the application of order and cleanliness of the corresponding work area (5's).
Observe and practice all Company Safety Rules and regulations when performing work as well as being knowledgeable in OSHA Standards and other occupational hazards.
Disassemble mechanical devices such as Plastic extruders, cylinders, pumps, valves, and gearboxes to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs. Uses appropriate lifting devices, hand tools, power tools, and occasionally fabricating fixtures. Reassembles mechanical devices and install new parts.
Set up and operate Industrial machining equipment including but not limited to (drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts.
Responsible for correcting and/or reporting out of the standard performance.
Responsible for notifying the supervisor when assistance from the external department is needed.
Responsible for the safekeeping and care of the assigned and commonly used tools and reporting any damage to the tools for their replacement.
Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement through the kaizen methodology utilizing PPI tools.
Follow and work under the Safety and Environment rules.
Participate in training sessions on environmental matters
Carry out their tasks respecting the controls for the care of the environment and the integrity of the employees.
Maintain in optimal operating conditions the equipment for environmental operational control and/or that affect the environmental performance of the Environmental Management System.
Participate in weekly talks on environment and safety
Report the pertinent Hazard IDs that you identify in your environmental and safety activities.
Participate in the 4 Disciplines of Execution
Participate in PPI activities


Authorities:

Apply LOTO procedure
Electrical panel access for reviewing
Access to restricted areas such as substations, pump rooms, patios, and rooftops.
Apply for non-routine jobs.
Point out and report any violation of the dress code within the facilities.
Report activities that affect the environment (when applicable)
Establish and exercise controls for significant environmental aspects of the operations under their responsibility.
Execute the pertinent corrective measures for activities that affect the environment, when the expected results of the Environmental Management System are not achieved.
Open Hazard IDs in terms of environment and safety and take the necessary and appropriate measures for their resolution.


Requirements for the position:

Education:
Technical career in a related area such as Mechatronics, Electronic, mechanical electrical / Electromechanical technician
High School Diploma or Equivalent


Experience:
Preferably 3+ years of experience in automated systems, PLC programming, Vision Systems, Sensors, Robot fine-tuning, or equivalent. Connecting to PLC or Vision systems to upload and download programs.

Knowledge:

PLC programming, ladder diagram, blocks, and structure. Connecting to PLC or Vision systems to upload and download using IP adresses.
Programming of HMIs.
Desirable knowledge of ultrasonic sealers
Control equipment such as drives, servo drives, and servo motors.
Adjustment, operation, and calibration of industrial robots.
Solid knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, control, and electricity.
Able to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams
Management of workshop work tools (multimeter, ammeter, micrometer, vernier, precision levels, drill ohmmeter, hand tools).

Plus, if familiar with any of the following items: PLCs (AB/ Rockwell, Siemens B&R), (Fanuc - 6 axis robots and Fanuc SCARA robots), Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex and custom), Sensors (Banner, Keyence - photo electric & laser displacement. Actuator position sensors 2 & 3 wire. Understanding of PNP/ NPN signals, light on/off and dark on/off sensor selections. Sink or source inputs and outputs.


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to lift/ move a heavy object, bend, reach, kneel, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, as well as be able to work in confined spaces.
