Graham Personnel Services is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team and help bring custom industrial automation and equipment projects from concept to completion.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers, engineers, technicians, production teams, vendors, and customers while gaining hands-on experience managing real-world engineering and manufacturing projects.

If you're highly organized, technically curious, enjoy solving problems, and want to grow your career in project management, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Assist Project Managers throughout the full project lifecycle—from kickoff and engineering through fabrication, assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Coordinate activities across mechanical engineering, electrical/controls engineering, fabrication, assembly, purchasing, vendors, and field teams.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule conflicts, material delays, scope changes, and other potential risks.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, internal reviews, customer meetings, and project status updates.
  • Keep project documentation organized, including schedules, meeting notes, action items, change orders, and other project records.
  • Assist with purchasing and procurement while following up with vendors on materials, components, lead times, and deliveries.
  • Communicate project updates, priorities, and outstanding action items to internal teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Support project cost tracking, including labor hours, materials, and overall budget performance.
  • Help coordinate equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and field-service activities when needed.
  • Assist with customer-requested changes and ensure changes in scope are properly documented and communicated.
  • Help ensure projects meet customer specifications, quality requirements, schedules, and company standards.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements that make project execution, communication, scheduling, and workflow more effective.

What We're Looking For

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, project management, engineering, manufacturing, industrial automation, custom machinery, or a related environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, or technical teams.
  • An understanding of project schedules, budgets, purchasing, documentation, and change management.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, vendors, customers, and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, or engineering documentation is preferred.
