Job Description
Accounting Associate *Potential Direct Hire Opportunity!*
Key Functions in the Accounting Department:
1. Accounts Receivable: - Prepare and send daily customer invoices, matching them with signed packing slips. - Address any discrepancies between invoices and packing slips. - Review the Unbilled Shipment Summary report. - Send customer statements via email. - Enter cash receipts, including online card payments. - Handle customer order entry. - Follow up on overdue accounts. - Process credit applications for new customers and set them up in the system. - Maintain customer billing records.
2. Accounts Payable: - Enter vendor invoices by matching packing slip, receiver, and invoice, ensuring approval by management where necessary. - Reconcile freight charges for carriers and customer shipments. - Weekly AP check runs when needed. - Reconcile monthly credit card statements. - Complete credit applications for new suppliers and set up new vendors in the system. - Maintain vendor invoice records.
3. Admin Duties: - Make bank deposits as needed. - Prepare sales tax reports. - Perform bank reconciliations. - Prepare monthly commission reports. - Process payments as needed. - Assist with invoices in the order entry department. - Support customer stocking programs. - Reconcile petty cash. - Provide administrative support for company benefits. - Answer phones and greet visitors. - Assist with various financial reports. - Maintain records of fixed assets.
Qualifications: - Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. - Positive attitude and the ability to handle confidential information. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - High energy and strong interpersonal skills. - Excellent communication skills. - Proficiency in financial and project management.
Education & Experience: - Associate degree, or one or more years of related experience.
Work Environment: - Office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments. Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Friday Pay: 45k-55k/year
