Job Summary
The Forklift Operator (Heights) is responsible for safely operating industrial equipment and handling materials within a warehouse or production environment. This role ensures efficient material movement, accurate inventory tracking, and adherence to safety protocols while working at elevated heights.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Equipment Operation
- Operate forklifts, order pickers, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment at various heights.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure safe material handling.
- Perform pre-operational equipment inspections and report any issues promptly.
Material Handling
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and storage areas.
- Transport materials to designated storage or production locations.
- Verify shipment accuracy and report discrepancies.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records by documenting material movements.
- Update warehouse management systems as needed.
- Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Organize materials to maximize storage efficiency and accessibility.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and leadership.
- Provide updates on material movement and assist with operational issues.
Safety
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures.
- Promote a safety-first culture across the workplace.
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support changing business needs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Commitment to workplace safety and positive team culture
- Basic proficiency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet using proper fall protection
- Experience with material handling equipment (or willingness to learn) preferred
