Job Description

Job Summary: The Sanitation Department has primary responsibility for the daily sanitation needs of both the facility as well as the equipment in our Liquid and Beverage Production Departments.  The large volume of equipment, utensils, and packing equipment and their repeated and shared uses require a very detail-oriented individual who can not only perform the required duties but also document the tasks in the format mandated by the Company HACCP Program, GFSI Code, and the SSOP’s. Operates under the GFSI (Global Food Security Initiative) code.  This international code of standards and operating practices is audited and verified by SQF (Safe Quality Food) and is of primary importance in our operating systems and allows us to sell our flavors worldwide by ensuring the highest standard in food safety and quality.  It is the responsibility of every employee to place food product safety / workplace safety first in our operations, volume of production should never be overshadowed by our programs and procedures. If an employee should have any question as to the priority of these programs, they may feel free to contact any member of the Company’s SQF team for clarification or support.  Essential Functions of the job are: Equipment Sanitation: 
  • Primary:  To sanitize stainless steel mixing vessels and equipment in a timely manner
 
  • Primary:  Perform ATP testing to prevent cross contamination and fill out PPF0062 Equipment Cleaning Log to document completion.
 
  • Primary:  Ability to coordinate with packers and mixers to effectively support continued production operations.
 
  • Primary:  To inventory and maintain the cleaning supplies and tools according to the “Chemical Control Program”. 
 
  • Primary:  To successfully complete the HACCP, GMP, and Workplace Safety training within the first ninety days of assuming the position
 
  • Primary:  To aid in the development and implementation of SSOP’s for all equipment 
 
  • Primary:  Serve as back up to the environmental sanitation technician, must be cross trained in environmental sanitation.
 
  • Secondary:  Other tasks and duties as prescribed by the Sanitation Supervisor. 
 Facility Sanitation: 
  • Primary:  To successfully complete demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Company’s HACCP Training program and the Workplace Safety Programs.
 
  • Primary: To effectively manage time in order to complete daily tasks as well as other scheduled tasks over the course of the week.
 
  • Primary: Ability to recognize optimal times to perform certain operations based on production floor patterns
 
  • Primary:  To maintain the “Daily Cleaning Schedule” both by monitoring it for content as well as performing its duties as listed.  The Daily Cleaning Schedule must be verified with signatures of the sanitation operator in order to meet the requirements of HACCP and GFSI standards.
 
  • Primary:  Inventory and maintain the cleaning supplies and tools according to the “Chemical Control Program”. 
 
  • Primary:  To successfully complete the HACCP, GMP, and Workplace Safety training within the first ninety days of assuming the position

 Entry Qualifications: Facility and Equipment Operations 
  • Must be 18 years of age in order to meet all workplace and food product safety 
regulations. 
  • Regular attendance is required.
 
  • Must be able to successfully work in a team towards a common goal.
 
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.  
 
  • Must successfully complete Food Safety and Workplace Safety training courses.
 
  • Must pass the Company prescribed, job specific, “Physical Abilities” testing as well as a pre-employment Physical
 
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug-screen.
 
  • Must be able to work overtime as determined by management.
 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate through written instruction and/or data entry.
 
  • Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for entirety of scheduled shift.
 
  • Must satisfactorily complete an Application for Employment
 
  • Must satisfactorily complete a reference and background check.
 
  • Must complete the Company’s Confidentiality Agreement
 
  • Must provide identification and already be authorized to be legally employed on an ongoing basis in the United States.
 
  • Must be able to obtain a valid forklift operators license.
 
  • Must have tact and human relations skills in dealing with supervisors and other MML employees.
 
  • Complete any other tasks as assigned by management
