Job Description
Shipping & Receiving Clerk *Direct Hire Opportunity!* Essential Responsibilities: • Demonstrate company Core Values: Safety, Respect, Ownership • Direct carrier drivers of inbound and outbound shipments at the shipping/receiving window • Performs clerical functions which include receiving, data entry, filing, mailing, answering telephones and performs other duties as needed • Generate shipping documents for outbound shipments • Tender shipments to approved carriers • Contact customer’s carriers for collect shipments and assist in scheduling LTL orders as needed • Create daily Logistics Shipping plan for internal shipments and shipments from outside warehouses, adjusting as needed according to production and customer requirements • Assist with generating order processing kits for internal shipments and shipments from outside warehouses • Schedule inbound raw material receiving appointments using the Shipping/Receiving calendar, communicate with group leaders to resolve any appointment issues • Maintain and communicate the shipping and receiving calendar • Enter vendor receipts electronically after receipt • Responsible for processing of raw material and MRO receipts in the AS400 system • Responsible for receipt of MRO inbound packages and coordinating on time internal delivery with Logistics Group Leader
Education and Experience: • High school graduate or equivalent • Minimum 2 years Logistics/Warehouse related experience required • Minimum 2 years consecutive employment with 1 employer • Experience in a clerical or administrative role
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Must be able to read and interpret work documents • Must have the ability to work in teams • Must have the ability to perform basic math • Must have the ability to adapt to frequent changes • Proficient in use of computer software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word Power Point, and Excel • Quick and accurate data entry • Strong attention to detail • Ability to document in a manner that is easily understandable • General knowledge of logistics functions and processes • Dependability • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and handle special requests • Ability to work cross functionally • Familiar with AS400/PRMS • Ability to take initiative • Ability to problem solve
Training Requirements: • General Safety • Quality Systems • New Hire Orientation • Position-specific Basic Training
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements: • Hearing protection must be worn in high noise designated areas • Cut resistant gloves when using cutting tools • Safety goggles must be worn when working with the air compressor Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6am-6pm Pay: $19/hour with flexibility based on experience
